Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers may be returning to Italy following interest from Serie A clubs, Cagliari and Empoli.
Dessers is considering his future at Rangers after dropping down the pecking order in recent weeks.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the move to either Cagliari or Empoli will be a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old had a stint in Serie A with Cremonese in the 2022/23 campaign.
The Nigerian scored six goals in 26 league appearances for Cremonese.
The forward was sold to Rangers after just one season following Cremonese’s relegation to Serie B.
Dessers has racked up 12 goals and four assists in 30 appearances across all competitions for Rangers this season.
His contract with the Light Blues runs until May 2027.
