The Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hajiya Ireti Heebah Kingibe, has extended warm felicitations to Christians, particularly her constituents, on the occasion of Easter, while condemning the ongoing violence plaguing Nigeria.
In a statement issued through her senior special assistant on media, Kennedy Mbel, the senator expressed hopes that the celebration of Christ’s resurrection would usher in “abundant joy, love, and peace” across the country.
Senator Kingibe voiced strong condemnation of the relentless killings nationwide, urging government authorities at all levels to take decisive, lawful action to halt further bloodshed.
“The incessant loss of lives is unacceptable, and we must do everything within the law to restore peace,” she said.
While commending Nigeria’s security agencies for their efforts in combating insecurity, the lawmaker called for intensified measures to address the crisis.
She also offered prayers for divine guidance and protection for the security forces as they work to safeguard the nation from “wicked aggressors.”
Wishing all Nigerians a memorable Easter, Senator Kingibe reiterated her commitment to fostering peace and unity in the FCT and beyond.
