Senator Katung, Amos pay condolence visit to late chief of Moro’a family

It was a carnival of love as Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late paramount ruler of Moro’a Chiefdom, His Royal Highness, Mallam Tagwai Sambo.

Senator Katung along with the member representing Jema’a/Sanga federal constituency, Hon. Daniel Amos, were at the palace of the late monarch to sympathies with the people of Moro’a Chiefdom over the loss of their traditional ruler, who died peacefully on Friday, 14June, 2024.

While addressing sympathisers at the palace of the late monarch, the Senator noted his sterling contributions to the growth and development of not only Moro’a Chiefdom, but the entire Southern Kaduna.

Senator Katung, who paid special tribute to the late paramount ruler, said the late Tagwai Sambo lived a very productive life and represented the virtues of truth, service and honesty in his 58 years on the throne.

He said, “Baba’s leadership and goodwill attracted enormous development to the Chiefdom and also improved the living standards of his people while he was alive.”

The lawmaker added that Nigeria has lost one of its longest-reigning traditional monarchs whose contributions to the promotion of unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians cannot be forgotten for years to come.

“Baba was a true leader, he was an upright person, he was God fearing, the only thing we can do to keep his legacy is to emulate his peaceful legacy.

“Baba was a great pillar to me and for that, I am here to pay my last respect and appreciate him for being a great support to me. May his soul rest in peace,” the senator said.

While consoling the Wife of the late monarch, Mrs. Alisabatu Sambo, Senator Katung urged the family to be comforted in the fact that late Baba Sambo lived for God and humanity.

Responding, the Secretary of the Moro’a Traditional Council, Mr. Emmanuel Musa, thanked the Senator and his entourage for their sympathy visit to the Chiefdom.

He thanked the Senator for sponsoring a bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences within the Chiefdom.
A move said will bring growth and development not only to Moro’a Chiefdom, but entire Kaduna State.
