Security expert and philanthropist, Ozo Jeff Nweke, Thursday, emerged as the flag bearer of Action Alliance (AA) ahead of Anambra state November 8, 2025 gubernatorial poll.
Nweke polled 58 votes to defeat his opponents – Mrs Amarachukwu Ekwunife and Mr Michael Enemou who scored 8 and 6 votes respectively at party primary poll held in Awka, the state capital which adopted option A4.
The Chairman of the electoral Committee and National Secretary of AA, Mr James Vernmibe, said 105 delegates were elected to participate in the primary but only 72 got accredited and voted.
In an acceptance speech after the nomination, Ozo Nweke pledged to run an open door policy if elected as governor and appealed to the delegates and other members of AA to join hands with him to win the main election.
Nweke, who acknowledged that the battle would be tough, assured that victory would be theirs at the end because according to him, the state was at a standstill and stagnant under governor Chukwuma Soludo and other predecessors.
“It may be tough but at the end, I will win. I have been in Anambra State for long. You will agree with me that nothing is working. Everything is stagnant. There is crime everywhere. But if elected, I will bring crimes to an end. I will improve the state Security, provide employment, infrastructural development and others,” he added.
