Speaker, Taraba state House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Abel Diah, has advised those agitating for restructuring of the Nigerian nation to do it within the ambit of the law. He stated this on the Floor of the House, when he addressed members, who reconvened from recess. “While it is lawful for any person or group of persons to peacefully express their views on national issues, including matters of self determination, it is important that such views should be articulated within the confi nes of the law “, he warned. Diah, however, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for taking steps to ensure that Nigeria remained an indivisible entity. Th e speaker also advocated the need to maintain history and social studies in the educational curriculum of the country to keep younger generations informed of how the nation, Nigeria, came about. “Our founding fathers like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and Sir Tafawa Balewa, despite their diff erent historical and ethnic backgrounds, united for the purpose of keeping Nigeria together as a nation”, he stated.
