William Troost-Ekong provided the assist that led to Al Kholood’s dramatic late goal in their 3-2 away to Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Professional League on Friday.
The match at Abdullah Al Dabil Stadium was a tough affair, but Al Kholood managed to take the lead in the 26th minute through Jackson Muleka’s composed penalty, before Al Ettifaq quickly responded with a 30th-minute equaliser from Georginio Wijnaldum.
Myziane Maolida restored Al Kholood’s advantage in the 54th minute, only for Moussa Dembélé to dramatically level the score in the 96th minute.
However, the decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time when William Troost-Ekong, showing exceptional leadership, set up Maolida for his second goal in the 100th minute.
This crucial win marked Al Kholood’s third triumph in 14 games, lifting them out of a difficult run and reigniting their fight for survival.
