The Sardauna of Michika in Adamawa state, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi Kari, has declared his intention to run for Adamawa North Senatorial seat under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Kari made the declaration while presenting six buses to the PDP for its operations in the zone at a ceremony in Mubi.
Kari said his decision to donate the buses was part of his contribution to strengthen the party.
While charging other party members to also contribute to building the party, Kari said no contribution was too small or big.
He lauded the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan and urged party members in the state to mobilise for his re-election “to continue the good work.”
The aspirant urged the PDP-led federal government to allow party leaders at all levels to head its poverty alleviation programme, particularly SURE-P, for more effectiveness.
Abdullahi, a retired federal civil servant, said the support and goodwill he enjoyed from the people of the zone during his days as civil servant prompted him to join politics in order to pay the people back handsomely.
A former Head of Service who is chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Sali Bello, described Abdullahi as “a realiable goal getter and a bridge builder.”
Bello urged for support of the people to the senatorial ambition of Abdullahi whom, he said, would give them the much-desired quality representation.
The state PDP secretary, Mr Tahir Shehu, and the state vice-chairman, Northern Zone, Mr Emmanuel Tsamdu, lauded Abdullahi for his sustained support to the party and urged others to emulate him
