Serie A outfit, Sampdoria, have told interested clubs that Stefano Chuka Okaka is not for sale.
In the past five days, reports have linked Okaka to AC Milan and Inter Milan.
President of the Sampdoria, Massimo Ferrero was quoted as saying: “Unless you give me 20 million dollars, he [Okaka] is mine, and woe betide anyone who tries to take him from me.”
SL10 revealed on Sunday 23rd November that the two Milan clubs have made enquiries on the services of the strong forward, who recently made his international debut for the Italian national side.
AC Milan could reportedly land the striker in the winter transfer, by sending Giampaolo Pazzini in the other direction.
Okaka has managed two goals and an assist for Sampdoria so far this season.
According to Italian sources, Pazzini could be used as part of a deal to bring Okaka to the Rossoneri.
Another stumbling block to the deal could be Sampdoria Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who would be loathe to see Okaka leave in January.
Eight years ago, Okaka turned down a call up to the Nigeria senior national team at a time when he was breaking into the first team of his former side AC Roma.
However, reports in Italy a year ago suggest his willingness to switch allegiance back to Nigeria after failing to make the senior team grade with Italy despite his exploits with their youth teams.
The ex-Fulham loanee can still represent Nigeria at competitive level if Italy fail to use him in any of their Euro 2016 qualifiers.
The 25-year-old attacker is contracted to Sampdoria until the summer of 2016.
