Sambo: Former Nigeria’s Vice President loses elder brother

Alhaji Suleiman Sambo, elder brother to former Vice President of Nigeria, Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo, has passed away.

The late Suleiman Sambo, a retired Chief Superintendent, served at the Department of Government Printing in the former Ministry of Information and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, retiring in 1994 after a distinguished 35-year career.

Suleiman Sambo was remembered for his dedication to his community and religious contributions.

His funeral, held at Bashama Road Cemetery, was attended by family, friends, and dignitaries, including former Vice President Namadi Sambo, alongside other religious and traditional leaders.

During the funeral sermon, Uztaz Sadiq Yusuf, Chief Imam of Kaduna Polytechnic Central Mosque, urged Muslims to remain committed to their faith and community service. Uztaz Sadiq also highlighted the deceased’s dedication to peacebuilding and religious tolerance.

Alhaji Suleiman Sambo, who passed on Monday at age 82 following a prolonged illness, leaves behind a legacy in his family, survived by a wife, 11 children, 52 grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren
