Royal queen set to clean up oil spillage in Niger-Delta

The Queen of Twon Brass Kingdom, Her Majesty  Dr Josephine Diete-Spiff JP has commenced the cleanup of the oil rich communities including the shores, river banks and canals as part of her foundation’s pet project to empower about 40 youths of the kingdom.

The exercise was flagged-off with the distributing brand new sets of sanitary materials and equipment to 40 beneficiaries by the queen.

According to the Queen who is also the founder of Lady Josephine DieteSpiff Foundation, the program was designed to enhance the hygiene of the kingdom as well as to maintain the lasting peace currently enjoyed in the island through community service and building self-worth in the youths.

Commending the youths of the kingdom for their show of enthusiasm and determination, the wife of the Amanyanabo of Twon Brass Kingdom said the programme  is well received appreciation from both the participants and community members.

The queen acknowledged the unflinching support of some notable members and corporate citizens of Twon Brass; adding that of note is the Nigerian Agip Oil Company, which has contributed in no small measure to youth development as well as her clean up initiative.

She said, “The subsequent clean up exercise is ongoing. So far the clean up exercise is excellent. This is my promise kept and kudos to my able precious youths. They are working hard and I am very proud of them. It’s a test project that has no time frame for now. We are on a weekly plan and we hope to continue”.

Disclosing some of the challenges, Queen Josephine said “We encountered a lot of teething and corporation problems at the beginning but wisdom did prevail and the youths are beginning to understand the concept of team work and earning a living. It’s a pet project and any support is welcomed.”
