Rohr throws Eagles’ nest open ahead 2018 W/Cup

As preparations for 2018 FIFA World Cup begins in earnest, Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has declared that he has not shut his door on Players outside those that qualified Nigeria to be in Russia.
Rohr who disclosed this when he spoke to Our Correspondent just after the final qualifier against the Fennec Foxes of Algeria for next year’s mundial maintained that in as much as the present crop of Players in the team would be offered opportunity to feature in the tournament, any highly informed Nigerian footballer would equally be considered.

According to Rohr who led his side to heap 2-4 defeat on Argentina in a friendly game, four days later, said; “This team hasn’t arrived yet. It’s a work in progress. We will keep working on various departments to be better. I’m happy that players that haven’t played before showed good composure and attitude. The spirit is same.

“You know that good preparation is key to our success. Just like we did during the qualifiers, we will take every match one after the other. The most important thing now is that the Players we have now are committed and talented as well.

“We will not spare any effort in making sure we have good representation in Russia. World Cup is where every Player wants to be. So everyone is competing to be part of this history. Yes we have qualified but what’s more important is how far we can go.”

The country’s senior Men National team would be advancing their preparation ahead of the World Cup with more friendly games on the card after they entered into swift agreement with the executive board of Nigeria Football Federation on how their allowances would be distributed at every stage of the tournament.

The deal came on stream immediately after Coach Gernor Rohr-led side smashed Argentina 4-2 in a test match in Russia few days ago.
