Revisiting 2014 Confab report will endear you to Nigerians, Bode George tells Tinubu

The former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to revisit the recommendations of the 2014 Confab report.

He said doing that would make Nigerians to vote for him overwhelming for a second term in office in 2027.

He said the report of the confab is the only panacea to Nigeria problems.

Chief George said this in an interview with journalists at his office in Ikoyi,Lagos.

He noted that the major challenge facing the country was bad constitution imposed on the country by the military.

He said irrespective of the amendments made to the constitution,it can never produce the desired result.

He explained that the 2014 confab took it upon itself to xray the problems facing the country, and made recommendations to the challenges, but he was shocked that despite the good recommendations made by the 2014 confab, the report was not implemented.

Chief George stated that if President Tinubu believes Nigerians voted him into office, he should do what will make them happy by addressing the challenges confronting Nigerians.

Speaking on having a credible election,he said INEC should be independent and there should also be a whistle blower monitoring the activities of the electoral body.

Chief George insisted on electronic system of voting because it is credible and reliable.

“The electoral body should be independent and ready to do the right thing, not to pretend things can’t work positively.

” The electronic system of voting should not fail on the day of election, people must be trained on how to handle it, and there must be whistle blower monitoring the activities of INEC, anybody found guilty should be sent to prison.”

Chief George maintained that, if Nigeria should continue to do wrong things and manipulate things, the international community will lose respect for the country.

He therefore commended Ghanians for organising a credible election, and also saluted the courage of the loser for accepting defeat.

Speaking on the future of PDP, he said the future of the party is very bright because it was established on a strong foundation.
He said the founding fathers of the party meant well for the country was why they introduced rotation of positions in its constitution so that no part of the country will be marginalized.

He explained that the crisis facing the party would soon be resolved, because there is no organization without its challenges.
