A coalition of Northern APC support groups, has endorsed the speakership bid of Yusuf Adamu Gagdi for the 10th speaker of the House of Representatives, with urging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to zone the seat to the North Central.
The national chairman of the support groups, Adamu M. Abdullahi at a press briefing in Bauchi, stated that the coalition’s endorsement of Gagdi was borne out of extensive scrutiny of the returning legislator’s pedigree, capacity, and leadership qualities.
He observed that the task before Nigeria is enormous, hence the country deserves leaders like Gagdi, a member representing Pankshin/Kanke and Kanam federal constituency in Plateau state who are in tune with reality and have a high responsibility to pilot the country’s affairs.
“There is need for the speaker to be a bridge- builder regardless of party affiliations to complement the efforts of the executive arm of government in the mundane task of formulating and enacting laws that would be beneficial to sustainable growth and development in the country,” he said.
