Rep Ogah move to attract NOUN to Ebonyi Correction Centre

The lawmaker representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency of Ebonyi, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, Wednesday, promised to attract the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) to the correction centre in the state.

The lawmaker disclosed this during his visit to the centre at Abakaliki and Afikpo, Ebonyi state as part of activities marking his 47th birthday celebration.

Addressing about 1,315 inmates, Ogah encouraged the prisoners to adjust their lives where necessary and further promised to plead for pardon from the governor on their behalf.

“No hope is lost, here is a place you stay and have a rethink. Here is a place you re-organize your career, great leaders were once in this place. Respect the leadership of the correction service.

“I will talk to the governor to give pardon to some of you; if you have been into cultism turn away from that and have a new leaf,” he counselled.

Rep. Ogah further gave the centre the sum of N200, 000 for drugs reinforcement in the clinic and warned that no life should be lost as a result of lack of drugs in the centre.

The Controller Correctional Service Ebonyi, while receiving the items had requested for a tertiary education in the area.

Items donated included bags of rice, beans, sewing machines, and mats among others.
