Red Tigers stake claims over Emenike

A Nigerian club side, Red Tigers has claimed the ownership of Super Eagles and Fenerbahce of Turkey striker, Emmanuel Emenike and not the defunct Delta Force FC as it is widely believed.
A representative of Red Tigers who is also the head, Sports Law Africa, Activity Chambers, Johnny Precious Ogbah, insisted that Red Tigers are the owners of Emenike and are entitled to the proceeds generated from the player’s transfer.
Ogbah, in a letter, refuted Delta Force claims, saying the Fenerbache striker never featured in the colours of the Asaba outfit.
The letter reads: “I have through Mr Fred Iwenjora, got through to the owner of Red Tigers FC and have validated his claims. Emenike (Emmanuel) did indeed play for him for a few years. This has enabled us commence proceedings towards assisting them to recover solidarity compensation. A FIFA mechanism to compensate small clubs for their effort in training young lads which entitled the clubs to a minute share of every transfer the player between two affiliate associations and for which a transfer fee is paid due them for Emenike’s recent transfer to Turkey.”
Ogbah also alleged that some impostors who claimed to be Delta Force officials defrauded Fenerbahce and FIFA to the tune of 300,000 Euros which ordinarily should go to Red Tigers FC and any other clubs Emenike played before he turned 23 years old.
“The fact is, Emenike never played for Delta Force FC. Also, Delta Force FC is defunct and a defunct club is not entitled to make such claims thus even if Emenike played for them, because they are defunct. They are not entitled to make this claim and the funds ordinarily should go to the FA if there is no club to claim it.
“We have filed our claims to Fenerbahce and FIFA, but we have cause to strongly believe that the people behind this claim are well connected at the top of Nigerian Football.”
