Reactions trail Ibiyeomie’s stand on tithe

Prominent Nigerian preacher, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has found himself at the center of a heated social media debate on his explanation on why he believes he cannot adhere to the traditional practice of paying 10 percent of his income as tithe.

Ibiyeomie, who is the founder of Salvation Ministries, said God would flog him if he pays 10 percent as tithe.

He spoke while addressing his members on Sunday in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

Reacting on Monday, netizens took to Twitter to give their cent on his view on tithing.

@Suspect tweeted that, “I can remember very well when am still in Phc I came to his church he managed to convince people including me to give God a fat offering I pay both my transport I trek from GRA to pepperoni.”
