Pupils protest El-Rufai’s plan to sack teachers

Primary school pupils in Sabon Gari and Zaria local government areas of Kaduna state yesterday took to streets protesting government’s intention to sack over 21,000 primary school teachers across  the state who  were said to have failed the competency test conducted recently.

Blueprint reports that the pupils took to the streets along Aminu and Makarfi main roads in Sabon Gari and Zaria local government areas, respectively in their thousands carrying placards with hausa inscriptions detesting the state government policy.

It was observed that the pupils between the ages of six and twelve years were seen chanting in Hausa: Ba maso mai Rusau and Abincin ma bamaso, meaning we are longer interested in mai Rusau and we don’t like even his food.

The medium also observed that there was nobody guiding the aggrieved pupils.
