Publisher unveils Insight Destination in Kaduna

A tourism inclined magazine, Insight Destination, was yesterday unveiled in Kaduna.
Publisher and Chief Operating Officer of the magazine, Ayodele Martins Arokoyo, while the presenting its maiden edition said, “Nigeria loses about N35 billion annually due to insecurity and inadequate plans of running tourism industry.”

On the choice of the title, Arokoyo said Insight Destination “is one-stop tourism, hospitality and allied industry centered magazine set to officially present and lunch as well set agenda for its forth coming destination promotion awards in honour of individual, corporate bodies and other cognate institutions.

It will also be a vibrant tourism and hospitality specific magazine with emphasis on travel, tourism, hospitality icons, heritages, monuments and destinations all done with a view to promote investment opportunity, foreign direct investment and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.”

On the need to de-emphasis depending on oil as main stay of Nigeria’s economy, the publisher further said, “Crude oil, the Nigeria’s major revenue earner in its mono-product economy as a strategic economic weapon is fast dwindling in demand, arising from many African countries discovery of oil and increasing availability of sale of oil as alternative from major trade partners in US and China. The strategic and security significance of these translates into higher threats and insecurity to Nigerians and Nigeria, if not addressed.

“Tourism, through the efforts of all stakeholders is thus being repositioned to cushion or eliminate these impacts, hence our bringing together of stakeholders through annual awards and summit to proffer solution and activate needed necessary palliative.”
“We have also peeve way for job creation in the 23 federal constituency creating about 250, 000 jobs across the state in which 60 per cent are women.”
