The Chairman of ProHealth HMO Limited, Professor Gabriel Okenwa has canvassed strong collaboration among Stakeholders in the nation’s health sector.
Okenwa stated that strong synergy among the stakeholders have become imperative in order to strengthen the nation’s health sector and make it attractive for Nigerians to access quality healthcare.
Okenwa who spoke at the 14th Annual General meeting (AGM) of ProHealth HMO Limited, stressed the need for government to deepen it’s intervention in the health sectors through improved investments and upward review of renumeration of healthcare providers.
According to him, such interventions would not only stem the migration of health workers outside the shores of Nigeria but also mitigate the rising cases of medical tourism abroad.
He assured that ProHealth is determined to play a leading role in the provision of healthcare in the country.
Okenwa further assured that ProHealth is not resting on its efforts and would increase the tempo of it’s business development and marketing in the years ahead.
He disclosed that in line with the company’s resolve to play big, ProHealth has put machinery in motion towards meeting the new capital base of N750 million as stipulated in the operational guidelines of the new National Health Insurance Act, 2022.
During the year under review, ProHealth profit before tax(PBT), increased from N40 million to N44 million, representing a 10 per cent increase, while the company’s revenue in the area of it’s core business increased from N952.4 million to N1.239 billion, representing a 30 per cent increment.
Similarly, the total revenue accruable to the company recorded an increase from N968.17 million to N1.250 billion, representing a 29 per cent rise, just as the company recorded a marginal increase in it’s net assets from N590 million to N608.9 million, representing a 3.2 per cent increase.
