The people of Amaimo in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State were left in shock after a teenager from the area was allegedly shot dead by a Reverend Father, whose name could not be ascertained at the time of this report, for allegedly throwing a firework inside the church during service on Wednesday.
The priest, who is said to be a parishioner of the St Columbus Catholic Church, got enraged by the lad’s action and allegedly shot him with his gun.
The State Police spokesman, Henry Okoye, has confirmed the incident.
According to him, the police have commenced investigation into the incident.
“The police have commenced an investigation into the matter. This is all I can say for the moment.”
