Presidential jet back on air 8 hours after failing to fly Jonathan

It took more than eight hours for technicians to repair the Presidential jet that developed fault on Saturday after flying President Goodluck Jonathan to Minna, Niger state.

Blueprint learnt that the jet flew out of the Minna airport at about 9.30 pm after it failed to fly the president at about 2 pm at the end of the North Central zone unity rally organised by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was gathered that technical crew was mobilised from Abuja immediately the Presidential Fleet Commander declared the big Nigeria Air Force jet unfit to fly the president.

The president and his entourage were made to disembarked from the big jet to the smaller jet earlier used by the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, for the same function.
Blueprint was told at the Minna Airport yesterday that the technical crew flew the presidential jet out of the airport apparently to Abuja at about 9.30 pm.
Those in the President’s entourage included the Chairman, Board of Trustees of PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, the Senate President, David Mark and the National Chairman of PDP, Adamu Mu’azu.
Although Airport officials refused to disclose the problem that affected the Presidential jet, our correspondent gathered that it might have been electrical fault noticed moments before its take off.
The jet flew into Minna with the President on board at about 11.06 am on Saturday, but could not take to the air about 2pm on his return to Abuja.
