Polio: Kano to immunise 3.9m under 5 children for April exercise – Commissioner 

The Kano state government Monday assured of its commitment to ensure children under five are healthy through immunisation.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, stated this at the flag-off of April 2024 polio (nOPV2) exercise at Ungogo local government area.

He said Kano state government through the Ministry for Health completed everything possible for the success of the exercise throughout 44 local government areas of the state.

The commissioner charged parents to give necessary support for the success of the exercise by bringing out their children to the nearest center.

Dr. Yusuf called on all the 44 local government interim officers to make sure thy attended the evening briefing.

In his speech, the district head of Ungogo local government (Magajin Malam), Alhaji Ahmad Abdulkadir Chedi, gave assurance of their support for the success of the exercise.

Speaking earlier, the Ungogo local government interim officer, Alhaji Sani Abdu, commended the Ministry of Health for choosing the local government for the flag off.
