Police want landlords to be mindful of tenants

In an effort to curb crime rate in Kogi state, the state Police Command has called on landlords in the state to get more information about their prospective tenants before given their houses to them.
The Command also warned owners of uncompleted building to always check them to avoid being used by criminals to perpetrate their nefarious act.

The police spokesman,  Emeka Emeh, who made the call yesterday while speaking with newsmen  in his office, Lokoja, said it was high time people should be conscious of security by critically checking the next person closer to you.
He urged the general public to always give adequate and useful information to police so as to aid them in the fight against crime in the state.

He said “given useful and prompt information would help the police nip crime in the bud so as to enable the people sleep with their two eyes close.”
Emeh noted that the command had designed some measure aimed at reducing crime to the barest minimum, saying that the measure had started yielding result with the arrest of some armed robbers in the state.
