Police nab 4 for kidnapping

The Commissioner of Police in Abia, Mr. Adamu Ibrahim, has said that the command has arrested four suspected kidnappers in Aba, the commercial city of Abia.
Ibrahim told journalists, weekend, in Umuahia, the state capital, that the suspects were arrested in a bush behind Okigwe Road Primary School, Aba on March 3, 2014.

He said they were waiting for ransom after kidnapping one Nnenna Faithwin while she was driving in her car, a CRV with Reg. No Lagos EKY 777 AS at No. 46 Anyansi Close, near Eziama High School, Aba.
The police boss, who said that the suspects would be arraigned at the end of police investigation, further disclosed that others were arrested for various criminal activities, including car snatching, armed robbery and child theft.

He explained that the suspects were arrested with one locally-made pistol, two long machetes, two daggers, two charms and a torch, adding that they were arrested while waiting to rob customers who came to withdraw money.
Also paraded was a 50-year-old woman, who claimed to be childless. She was arrested in connection with an attempt to steal a child.

The woman told journalists that she had no intention to commit crime as she was only linked up with a young mother, who wanted to sell her child because she could not care for the baby.
She claimed she paid N100,000 to adopt the baby before she was arrested along with her assistant.
