Police confirm release of abducted Nasarawa perm sec 

 

The Nasarawa state police command said the abducted permanent secretary of the Nasarawa state Ministry of works, Jibrin Giza, who was kidnapped on Sunday has been released.

Police commissioner, Nasarawa state command, Mr. Bola Longe, confirmed the release Wednesday to journalists in Lafia.

He said 12 persons were arrested in connection to his abduction.

“Five criminals were arrested between Shabu and Nasarawa Eggon axis, while our human and technical intelligence consistently pointed at the back of the Federal University Lafia, we went there and arrested seven suspects to that connection,” he said.

The commissioner stated that because of the pressure mounted by the police, the criminals have no option than to abandon the abducted permanent secretary around Dudduguru axis.

He said Giza who was abducted from his home at Shabu , Lafia east development area has been  reunited with his family Wednesday, after much pressure from the police. No ransom was paid because “Ransome is not part of the police orientation,”Longe said.

Meanwhile, the command   paraded 35 suspected criminals allegedly involved in various criminal activities across the state.

He said the command recovered seven AK47 and 7 locally made pistols and guns, two cars and two motorcycles.

” Also at about 2030hrs on 11 February, 2020, based on credible intelligence, police operatives attached to the command anti-kidnapping section busted and subsequently arrested one Paulina Santos” f’ who had conceived a disingenuous plan to kidnap the mother of her bosom friend.

He urged the general public to always feed the police with useful information that would lead to the arrest of criminals.
