Police arrest 2 suspected robbers in Enugu

Police operatives from the Nkanu East Division of the Nigeria Police, Enugu State Command, have arrested two male suspects that had been terrorising the indigenes of the area for some time now.

One Chekwube Nwobodo aged 27, and Ifeanyi Edeh aged 30, both males, were arrested at Obinagu-Etiti Nara-Unateze in Nkanu East local government area on January 3, 2024, at about 2.40 p.m.

According to the Command’s spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, the arrest of the suspects followed a swift response to a distress call.

Ndukwe disclosed that the suspects other gang members escaped but are being hunted, while one (1) locally fabricated pistol with two (2) live cartridges, pieces of substance suspected to be crystal meth (otherwise known as Mpkuru-Mmiri), and a quantity of weed suspected to be marijuana were recovered from the suspects.

“The suspects and gang members at large are alleged to have carried out a series of armed robberies, burglaries, and other criminal activities in the mentioned area.

But having met their Waterloo, the suspects shall have the court of law to contend with once investigations are concluded,” Ndukwe also disclosed.
