The families of some deceased Police officers in Plateau state Wednesday received cheques worth N2.8m from the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme.
Presenting the cheques, the state Commissioner of Police, Hassan Steve Yabanet, said the command shares in their grieve as their breadwinners were personnel of his command before their demised.
A signed statement by the police spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, said the CP, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police presented the cheques worth N2, 807,445.90, to the families of the Police officers who paid the supreme price while in active service for the nation.
He said, “While presenting the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Scheme Cheques to the beneficiaries in his office at the Police state headquarters, Jos, today, the Commissioner of Police sympathised with the families of the deceased officers and said his command shares in their grieve as their breadwinners were personnel of his command before their demise.”
