The Coalition of Fulani Registered Organisations, Plateau state chapter, Tuesday, said contrary to insinuations by some media platforms, groups and individual persons, it has given no precondition for peace in the state.
The coalition said the story was “gross characterisation” of their recent press statement released on April 7, 2025.
The coalition stated its resolve to peaceful coexistence among communities in the state.
The organisation in a counter statement, signed by its chairman, Garba Abdullahi Muhammad, insisted that its heartfelt appeal for justice and peace has been misconstrued as confrontational demands.
“It has come to our attention that our sincere appeals have been deliberately misinterpreted as conditional demands, which is both misleading and damaging to our objectives,” the coalition stated.
It said their address was intended to call upon the relevant authorities, security sectors, the general public, and the international community to intervene in what they described as, “gross injustices” faced by innocent members of the Fulani community in Bokkos local government area.
“We want to make it unequivocally clear that our address was not confrontational, nor was it designed to threaten or impose any preconditions.
“Rather, it was a heartfelt appeal seeking justice, accountability, and the restoration of peace, grounded in the rule of law and human dignity,” it stated.
The coalition contended that their wording was misinterpreted; adding that t its requests should be viewed as prayers for justice rather than demands that impose conditions.
