Plateau commissioner urges NUJ partnership

Plateau state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Barr. Olivia Dazyam, has called for proper partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The commissioner made the call yesterday during a courtesy visit she paid to NUJ secretariat in Jos.

“I am urging for continues partnership with members of the NUJ, in making sure that the state good image of the state is properly projected,” she said.
The commissioner commended newsmen for their effective coverage of the last conducted LG elections despite the challenges of terrain in the state.

She solicited for the support and cooperation of the media to enlightenment the people as the Nigeria Broadcast Commission (NBC) is getting set to the switch over to digitalisation.
“You know that the NBC has picked Jos for the official switch over to digitalisation, and a lot of people are confused about wither their television sets will work.”

Dazyam pledged to work together with the NUJ officials towards upliftment of NUJ secretariat to standard one.
The state NUJ chairman, Mr Kadagba Gogum, had earlier told the commissioner to open up her door for the press, stressing that the members of the NUJ needed the desired cooperation of her office to work.
