Plateau assembly passes 529. 4bn 2025 fiscal expenditure 

 

The Plateau state House of Assembly Monday at plenary approved the sum of N529.4bn appropriation for the fiscal year 2025.

The House presided by Speaker Gabriel Dewan passed the fiscal budget after presenting a report at plenary by the chairman of  House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Adamu Aliyu.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, has early December, 2024 presented a fiscal proposal of N471.134-billion, with recurrent expenditure at N201.5-bn, while N269.6-bn is for capital expenditure for consideration and approval by the House.

The committee chairman, Hon. Aliyu, while presenting the report said after deliberations and scrutiny of the governor’s proposal, the sum of N529.4billionn has been considered for passage by the House Committee of Whole.

He said the sum of N226,467 billion  has been allocated for recurrent expenditure, whereas the sum of N302.9-bn was allocated for the capital expenditure for the 2025 fiscal year.

“Reasons for the increment were, World Development Initiative Project, Minimum Wage and the Counterpart Funds that were not captured in the budget estimates presented to the House,” he said.
