Plateau APC debunks remour parading PDP’s victory at tribunal

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Plateau state chapter has said the Supreme Court judgement, that ruled in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) asking it  to present one of its witness before the election tribunal was not in any way a victory for the party.

The party State Secretary, Barrister Bashir Musa Sati, said the PDP has misinterpreted the judgement of the Supreme Court for mischief.

“The attention of APC in Plateau state has been drawn to a deliberate misinterpretation of the recent Supreme Court judgement allowing the State Governorship Election Tribunal to make use of the evidence of the PDP and its candidate in the last election despite the fact that the witness was not listed among those to testify as required by law,” he said.

Sati said that does not mean any victory to PDP or its candidate at the tribunal as some overzealous elements bent on misleading their supporters are speculating.

“It only means the statement of that PDP witness will be considered and our lawyers be allowed to cross examine him on his testimony to test its veracity. So, there is no course for any concern,” he added.

Sati called on the APC’s teeming supporters and good people of Plateau state to remain calm and law abiding as their mandate is still intact and nothing will temper with it by the grace of God.
