Senator Diket Plang (APC, Plateau Central) has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for changing the face of the FCT with the required infrastructure development.
Senator Plang, who gave the commendation in Abuja on Friday while fielding questions from journalists, said the minister “is putting the FCT on the map of best federal capitals across the globe.”
“The minister’s unwavering commitment to project implementation in different sectors within the FCT was indicative of his knack for efficiency and exemplary leadership.
“Wike is walking the talk by ensuring timely execution of projects within the federal capital territory and this is highly commendable,” he said.
He added that Wike “is fulfilling his promise to transform the FCT into one of the world’s best capitals” which had largely brought succour to FCT natives who had over time decried marginalisation.
“The various projects being executed by the minister across the six area councils cut across road infrastructure, transportation and health care among others which had bolstered the federal capital back to life.
“Some of the projects worthy of note included the full scope development of about 6.7 kilometres of 10 lanes Outer Southern Expressway from Villa Roundabout to Ring Road 1 Junction.
“Others to him are the construction of Southern Parkway from the Christian Centre to Ring Road 1, named after President Bola Tinubu, B6 (Constitution Avenue)/B12 (Independence Avenue) roads in the Central Area and Wuye interchange bridge.
“The completion of engineering infrastructure, Guzape District Lot II, and resurfacing of 189 roads covering 57km within the city centre was a major milestone.”
The lawmaker, who described Wike as a “workaholic minister,” said his commitment to duty was a testament to President Bola Tinubu’s resolve to deploy the best hands towards delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda, adding that history would remember Wike as one of FCT’s best ministers.
