Personnel capturing will enhance financial integrity in Yobe – Committee

Yobe state chairman of civil servants bio data capturing committee and head of service in the state, Hamidu M. Alhaji, says the committee has so far verified and captured the bio data of 20,763 out of 30,862 civil servants working in the state.

He made this known on Wednesday while going round the ongoing verification and data entering centers in Damaturu along with the state commissioner of finance, Mohammed Abatcha and other members of the committee.

He stated that the committee was told by the verification center that some files from Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) have not been submitted.

He directed the varification centres to liaise with the MDAs to get those files in order to capture everybody in the state.

“We are going to make it public and ensure that every body that need to be capture has been captured,” he said.

He commended the varification and data entering centers for a job Weldon, stressing that the issues of personnel data base in the state is a continuous process.

In his remarks, Abatcha said the delay of the ongoing exercise is not from the committee nor those doing the verification and those capturing, rather it’s the MDAs that are dragging the committe backwards by not bringing their files.

“Since the creation of Yobe we don’t have a nominal roll, and for internal control purpose, nominal roll is one of the key document for running personnel in any organization.

“We are trying to enhance financial integrity in the state and by the time this system is move to the office of the head of service, there will be proper internal control,” he said.
