Pension: Trustfund pledges full compliance

The Management of Trustfund Pensions Limited has expressed its desire to ensure and maintain a 100 percent level of compliance in all its activities.
This, according to the Executive Director, Business and Personnel Administration, Malam Nasr Musa, will sail the organisation to greater heights.
He spoke at the Grand Finale of the 2017 Corporate Compliance and Ethics Week, tagged “Make Good Choices.”
Expressing excitement at the theme, Musa said, “the choice is clear. It is either you comply or you do not comply but it is better to comply. 99 percent compliance is not compliance and as Trustfund, what we want to achieve is to attain 100 percent compliance in everything that we do.” In this regard, the company he said, has instituted a structure to help guide our day to day activity as the “issue of compliance in this industry is not taken lightly.”
He concluded by urging all staff to “make good choices about what we want to do and how we want to do it, as it will define who we are, how the society views us and how the upcoming generation views us.”
Speaking at the event, the Chief Compliance Officer of Trust fund, Mrs. Rachael Osa-Obi, said the week-long programme was aimed at ensuring that all staff imbibe a culture of absolute compliance and adherence to the rules, guidelines, internal policies and ethics of the industry.
She noted that “it is a worldwide celebration which Trust fund joins annually” and thanked all staff for participating in the activities lined up for the week. The essence of organizing the week is yielding positive results.”
Top officials of the regulatory agency, the National Pension Commission (PenCom) lauded Trustfund for its efforts in ensuring that the organization abides by both industry regulations and government legislations.
In his paper titled: “The Need to Strengthen the Compliance Culture of Our Organisation by Making Good Choices and Its Benefit to the Pension Industry”, Mr. Mohammed Yola Datti, Head of Surveillance Department, PenCom, applauded the steps taken by the Compliance Department of Trustfund in elevating compliance to this level, describing it as a noble one.
