South West interim chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Ishola Filani, yesterday said the party was still strong and intact in the zone.
Filani said this while speaking with journalists in Ibadan at the end of the party’s zonal executive meeting.

He said there would be no going back in the party’s determination to win this year’s governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states by doing everything possible to ensure the party’s success in the June 26 election in Ekiti and August 9 election in Osun states.
He said: “We’re determined to fight, do everything possible legitimately to reclaim the two states. We have no plan to rig as being peddled by Governor Fayemi. We’re dispensing all our arsenals to win the two governorship elections.”

Filani stressed that contrary to the rumour by its opposition, Engr. Oni’s  counterpart in Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, was still with the PDP and that “we’ve been gaining members from the APC.”

“Former governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye  Oyinlola, is still with us. We’re going to ensure that we bring everybody together; there is nothing for us to fight on. We’re doing this because we’re prepared for 2015 general elections; we know we have to work hard to ensure that our president returns for second term.”
