PDP no longer attractive to Bayelsans, Lyon tells Dickson

All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bayelsa state Chief David Lyon has stated that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) no longer commands the respect of Bayelsans because of the undemocratic activities of Governor Seriake Dickson.

Dismissing Dickson’s verbal attack of his person, Lyon asked Dickson to focus on his party, stressing the PDP had long been rejected by the people because of years of broken promises, underdevelopment and poverty despite huge federal allocations.

He described the PDP as a sinking ship, stressing that the governor’s alleged greed, poor performance and arrogance has made the party very unattractive to the people, adding that these in turn have rejected both Dickson and the PDP and have chosen instead to embrace the APC.

Accordingly, he urged Dickson stop dissipating energy by making uncomplimentary remarks against the APC, his person, and other prominent sons and daughters of the state.

In a statement signed by his media aide Chief Gift Ebiki, the candidate, urged Dickson to channel his energies and focus on uplifting the state from his poor misguided administration.

“I want to tell Dickson that governorship is not a talk show. Dickson should also know that every Bayelsa understands his antics of propaganda and falsehood. Dickson should know that Bayelsans are well informed and need someone who has the capacity to provide food for Bayelsans, create employment opportunities and to improve their standard of living and build lasting infrastructures for them.

“I Chief David Lyon, by the grace of God assures Bayelsans that I have the capacity to provide these essential amenities. Bayelsans know that by God’s Grace, I have provided job opportunities for more than 7000 families out of my personal business organization, which has given succor to most of the Bayelsans that the Dickson administration has impoverished.

“I am a scientist by training, having read Mathematics and Chemistry, and scientist are not noisemakers, we are thinkers, doers and implementers. My business empire did not come up through plagiarism, but with guided thoughts and emotions. I am what I am today by the special grace of God.

“The 21st century generation need men and women of innovators, capable of providing better and sustainable environment for their immediate families, communities, local government and states, and I am proud to be among these categories of young men in Bayelsa in particular and Nigeria at large.

“The days of politics of bitterness, name-calling are over. Today’s politics is what you can offer to elevate the sufferings of people. Dickson should know that, the APC new era 2019 team will surely take over the reins of government on November 16th, 2019 in Bayelsa state”, he said in the statement.
