PDP guber candidate pledges support for farmers

Kebbi state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, General Bello S. Yaki (rtd), has pledged to run an administration that would empower the farming families to grow more food for the state and the nation at large.

He made this known in Fakai local government area while addressing party supporters at the town square when the PDP campaign train visited the area yesterday.

He assured farmers across the state that if elected, he would accord top priority to agriculture, noting that the importance of the sector couldn’t be over-emphasised.

Yaki stressed that majority of the people of the state were farmers who practice subsistence farming, therefore, promised to assist them with all the necessary inputs required to boost their production.

According to him the entire people of Zuru Emirate right from ancesstoral fathers were known to embrace farming as a means of survival.

The PDP candidate further promised to evolve youths in the agricultural transformation agenda so as to be useful to themselves and become self-reliance.
