PDP consoles Sokoto traders over fire disaster

The acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagun, has on behalf of the PDP family consoled the government and people of Sokoto state especially traders in the central market who lost their properties in the fire incident which occurred at the early hours of Monday

This was contained in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Sokoto by the Special Assistant to the acting National Chairman on Media and Communications, Malam Yusuf Dingyadi

The acting chairman described the incident as a tragedy that negatively impacted not only on the business activities but also the lives of people in Sokoto and neighboring states.

Damagun called on governments at all levels, NEMA, well-meaning Nigerians and other relief agencies to hasten the support and assistance on the victims of this fire incident

“This comes in the wake of the devastating fire inferno that engulfed a portion of the market, known as “wajan ‘yan mashin,” destroying approximately 180 shops.

Recall that the fire incident razed some portion of the market destroyed over 180 shops involving properties worth hundreds millions of Naira

Also in his condolences message,  the spokesman of the national chairman of the PDP, Malam Yusuf Dingyadi prayed for Allah’s compensation for the losses incurred and for protection against future occurrences.

The remote cause of the incident could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report
