Members of Peoples Democratic Party PDP aspirants at various positions in the FCT have been called upon to respect the party constitution at all time.
The aspirants were charged to always see themselves as one family during the forthcoming national assembly primaries of the party slated for December 6, 2014, in Abuja.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, stated this in a message at a meeting with delegates and executives of the party in preparation for the forthcoming primaries.
Mohammed, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Senator Usman Jibrin Wowo, charged the delegates not to take the primaries as a do-or-die affair.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the FCT PDP chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Suleiman, said adequate arrangement had been put in place to ensure successful primaries in the territory.
He advised those who are not delegates not to come to the venue on that day to cause mayhem.
On his part, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda representing FCT and chairman, Senate Committee on Power and Mythology, reminded party members to be aware of the security challenges in the country, and urged them to love themselves and work together as a team for the progress of the party.
Speaking to journalist after the meeting, a former chairman Kuje Area Council, and the frontline contender for Abuja south, House of Representatives, Hon. Dalandi Etsu Zhin, said the issue of consensus candidates was a matter of understanding between the candidates, stressing that “consensus is just like zoning system where party members come together and agree on the zoning.”
He said the consensus was completely out of the party’s constitution and called on the electorate/delegates to cast their votes for the candidates of their choice. He promised to represented his people well and provide more infrastructural development if elected.
