Former chairman of Owerri Municipal Council on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Oshieze Vincent Ehirim, says the party and the current ruling party in the state, All Progressives Congress (APC) have failed Imo people.
According to him, it is on the basis of that he and some political bigwigs in the state decided to join forces with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to raise a formidable squad to wrest power from Governor Rochas Okorocha and his men in 2019.
He said the two parties were characterized by the twin evils of impunity and imposition of candidates which are capable of ruining political parties and democratic tenets in any society. “I cannot be a member of such a party where these evils become the order of the day.”
Ehirim stated that “During the 2015 PDP Governorship primaries, the line up that won the election was denied opportunity to stand for the main election. And that is what we have come to APGA to correct. With the current political climate we will get to Imo Government House.
Others, who are yet to join the party, should join now to help build the party of our dream. Go to Anambra where APGA is holding sway and see development for yourself”, he said.
