Following the new automotive development plan aimed at developing Nigeria’s Automotive Industry (NIA), the consolidation of technical and commercial synergy between Automobile Peugeot (AP) France and Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, PAN would soon commence production of Peugeot 301 and 508 locally.
To strengthen the technical and commercial agreement renewed with AP France last year, the management of PAN received a team of auto manufacturing experts from AP France who came to inspect the company’s facilities in readiness for the production of the Peugeot 301 and 508 vehicles scheduled for the second quarter of 2014.
This development follows the federal government’s approval of the new automotive development plan aimed at developing Nigeria’s Automotive Industry and place Nigeria in the league of automobile producing countries.
Speaking at the end of the facility tour, the visitors expressed delight with the standard of the factory equipment, and expressed confidence that with what they saw on ground, PAN is ready to commence production.
Managing Director, PAN Nigeria Limited Mr. Ibrahim Boyi, who received the team of experts from France, thanked the visitors for their commendation and pledged to leverage on the new automotive development plan approved by the Federal Government last year for PAN to re-establish its position as the pioneer and leading auto manufacturer in Nigeria.
Boyi had, in September last year, called on the federal government to put in place favourable policies that would protect local auto manufacturers in Nigeria, stressing that PAN has the capacity to produce cheap and affordable cars for Nigerians at all levels.
