Palliative, NRC introduces Apapa-Kajola passengers express train service

The Nigerian Railway Corporation on Thursday disclosed that it has commence a passengers train service from Apapa in Lagos state and Kajola, the location of the wagon assembling plant in Ogun state as part of the federal government palliative majors to cushion the effect of the petroleum subsidy removal to the barest minimum on the citizenry.

Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Alkali had on the 12th of September, 2023 while on a tour of NRC facilities in Lagos instructed the NRC to put everything in place to ensure the passenger service commence before the end of September.

NRC Director Operations, Mr. Akin Osinowo, the corporation intends to Introduce Mass Transit express passenger Train. Code-Named Apapa express between Apapa and Kajola on the Standard Gauge Railway Line soon.

He said in the interim, the stopping station for the Apapa express Train include-Mobolaji Johnson, Agege, Agbado before terminating at Kajola affirming that the train service will reduce the hardship experienced by commuters especially those plying Apapa to Kajola route.
