A couple identified as Taofeek and Romoke Olawale are now in the net of the Oyo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo state command for burning part of their 10-yr- old daughter.
Parading the suspects, the Oyo state NSCDC command Public Relations Officer (PRO),Mr Oluwole Olusegun, said the command is presently investigating circumstances surrounding the burning of the 10-yr- old lady , Abibat Olawale by her parents .
The PRO stated that the couple would soon be charged to court after investigations, adding that the command was doing all it could to ensure that the issue of child torture reduced drastically in the society.
Mr Olusegun charged parents and guardians maltreating their children and wards to desist from such act before the law catches up with them.
The Oyo NSCDC PRO stressed that the 10- yr- old victim, Abibat Olawale, had been taken to hospital.
Responding to questions from newsmen, the couple confessed to the crime, claiming that Abibat stole three thousand naira belonging to one Rukayat Tirimisiyu.
