The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kano Electricity Distribution Plc (KEDCO) Ahmed Dangana has reiterated his commitment to improving health and safety culture of the organisation for the protection of staff and customers from electricity-related accidents.
Dangana stated this while delivering remarks at a 3-day health & safety training organised for its frontline technical staff, at the company’s head office in Kano, Tuesday.
He said, “We will continue to provide all necessary equipment needed for our protection while discharging our various responsibilities; therefore, I urge you all to imbibe conscious attitude and shun taking short-cuts.”
In a statement issued by the Head Corporate Communications, Sani Bala Sani, the KEDCO boss also expressed appreciation to his technical team for their commendable efforts towards ensuring that the company remained 100 percent health and safety compliant, stating that “our topmost priority is to deliver efficient services to our teeming customers and in doing so, we must ensure our safety and wellbeing as well as that of our customers.”
Dangana, who cautioned the technical staff against non-usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty, said his doors were always open for valuable suggestions, especially those that would improve the overall performance of the company.
In his remarks on behalf of the trainees, the Chief Technical Officer, Engr. Inuwa Bala Daneji, expressed appreciation to the management for the continuous training and furnishing of the technical team with standard safety practices necessary to avert attendant dangers and risks they are exposed to daily.
