A high-powered delegation from the Labour Party (LP), led by Abia state governor, Dr. Alex Otti, Wednesday, met with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja to formally present the Certified True Copy of the Supreme Court judgment on the party’s leadership crisis.

Governor Otti who submitted the CTC to INEC officials, stated that the meeting was intended to promote clarity, mutual understanding, and alignment between the party and the electoral body regarding the Labour Party’s current leadership structure.
The Labour Party delegation was received by INEC’s Acting Chairman, Sam Olumekun, and other National Commissioners.
Discussions during the meeting reportedly centred on strengthening collaboration between the party and the electoral commission and reinforcing democratic principles.
Mr. Olumekun, representing INEC Chairman Prof Mahmood Yakubu who was on trip to Gambia, reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to neutrality, transparency and adherence to the rule of law in carrying out its constitutional duties.
