Osimhen’s market value drops in Turkey

Transfermarkt’s Turkey manager Gökhan Yağmur has informed that the value of Super Eagles and Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen has dropped despite his superb performance since joining on loan from Napoli.

The Nigerian had recorded two goals and two assistant for his Istanbul club in five matches since his arrival, while his first goal against Kasimpasa was voted the Goal of the Week.

Yağmur statement on Friday on the new market values, stated that market values are not based solely on performance, saying, “If we were to make an assessment based solely on performance, we would see that the rankings would be very different.

“What is essential here is the value of the players in market conditions. Especially success in European cups, national team performances, stability and the market dynamics of the Super League play an important role in determining these values.

“Turkey is not yet in a position to regularly export players from countries such as Portugal, Belgium or the Netherlands to the top leagues, so the market values of players in Turkey are generally lower and do not rise as fast as players from those countries.”

In this update, the biggest loss in value in the Super League was experienced by Galatasaray ‘s new transfer Victor Osimhen.

He was followed by Cengiz from Fenerbahçe.

Other important names that lost value included Simon Banza , Fred , Mauro Icardi, Hakim Ziyech and David Datro Fofana from Göztepe.

Significant decreases were observed in the market values of these players but Osimhen maintains his place at the top as the most valuable player in the Super League by a large margin.
