Oshoala, Ebi to miss Rio clashFootball

Super Falcons coach, Chris Danjuma has confirmed that Liverpool Ladies markswoman, Asisat Oshoala and FC Minsk defender, Onome Ebi will not be available against Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea.
The African champions are expected to host Equatorial Guinea in the first fixture clash of 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics qualifier on Saturday at the Abuja National Stadium. The reverse fixture comes up on Sunday, August 02 in Bata.
However, Danjuma said he has equally potent forces to pick from to give Nigeria a 100% victory against two-time African champions.
“Oshoala is still being expected though it’s almost looking certain that she will miss the first fixture clash on Saturday but will be available for the reverse fixture in Bata, Equatorial Guinea. Onome Ebi is equally ruled out from the clash.
“We have other invited foreign-based professionals with us for the crucial match namely Desire Oparanozie, Ngozi Okobi, Josephine Chukwunonye, Francisca Ordega, Evelyn Nwabuoku, Esther Sunday, among others.
“We have pool of quality players so be rest assured that we will feature our very best legs against Equatorial Guinea on Saturday in Abuja.
“The players have blended and responded quite beautifully to our match tactics and anxiously roaring to unleash their weights on the visitors.
“Our mindset is to take each game as cup final to end it there and then and pick the trophy so that is the mentality we are bring into the game.
“Kill off the game right here on home soil, kill off the opponents and forget the reverse fixture in Bata or as they will say make the second leg a mere formality.
“We are mindful of the expectation of Nigerians which is not different from ours that is to qualify for the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Winner of the two-legged fixture will meet the winner of the fixture between South Africa and Kenya for a spot at the women’s football event of next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
