Odua Peoples Congress delegate at the ongoing National Conference, Otumba Ganiyu Adams has taken a swipe on his fellow delegate who forcefully snatched a microphone from a female delegate during the plenary.
Otumba Adams who had rushed to rescue the woman on the floor of the conference described the act as a show of shame on the part of the delegate.

He called for respect for one another especially for the woman stating that though they might disagree on issues, there was need for mutual respect.
The Odua Peoples’ Congress chieftain stated that the chairman of the conference was in control of the proceedings and called his fellow delegates to be patient and respect majority views, even when itching to make their contributions.

He told Blueprint that he disagreed with the former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Gambo Jemeta’s position when he said people came with their agenda noting that everybody had come to the conference on the platform of Nigeria though from different backgrounds and nationalities.
He noted that their backgrounds and nationalities would not be thrown away because they belong to the bigger union called Nigeria.

Mr Adams stated that without the various nationalities that make up Nigeria, the country cannot be there underscoring the need to ensure that the conference builds a solid foundation for the Nigerian nation.
He stated that the country having existed for 100 years have issues plaguing it, a reason he noted the conference was convoked adding that individuals and groups must be allowed to voice out their agitations unhindered.
