National Chairman of Izalatu Bidiah wa’ikamatul sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abdullahii Bala Lau, has advised Muslim and Christian followers to observe three days fasting and embark on constant prayer to end the killing of innocent citizens in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa state.
Speaking with newsmen in Katsina state at the weekend, Lau said “Nigeria needs prayer from both Muslims and Christian as a way to address current insecurity problem.”
According to him, “we have a duty as Nigerians to do everything possible to complement effort by security agents towards ending killing of innocent people.”
He described continue killing of innocent people as “disturbing and unacceptable,” saying that those behind it were not true followers of Islam.
“The killing in Maiduguri, Yobe and Adamawa, if allow to continue, will be extended to other states and more innocent Nigerian will become victims of Boko Haram.”
He added that “report indicated that between January to March this year, more than 534 people were killed in Maiduguri, Yobe and Adamawa states.”
