Ondo PDP disowns Oluboyo

The Peoples Democratic party,(PDP) Ondo state has said the former deputy ogvernor of the state, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, is not a member of the party as claimed by the information commissioner, Donald Ojogo.

The party in a statement by the director of media and publicity, Zadok Akintoye , said the former deputy governor had left the party along with former governor, Olusegun Mimiko, to Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), stressing that it was mischievous to be referring to him as member of PDP.

In his words, “Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo was not a member of the PDP, having left the party-PDP- with the former governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko for the Zenith Labour Party from where he sought to decamp to the PDP early this year but eventually never did due to the party’s inability to meet his demands”.

“It is very incorrect and inappropriate to be referring to Alhaji Oluboyo as members of the PDP defecting in the state.

“While the party wish him and others the best in their chosen adventure in the APC and assure all faithful PDP members that the party remains very committed to their collective aspiration to win the next gubernatorial election in the sunshine state.

Earlier in a release, the Information and strategy commissioner in the state, Donald Ojogo  stated that, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, former deputy governor to Olusegun Mimiko alongside others have dumped the opposition party,PDP to joined the camp of the All Progressive Congress, APC in the state .

In his statement, “Oluboyo defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) alongside 13 other founding fathers and leaders of the party at a mega rally to mark the third anniversary of the governor”.

The PDP spokesperson, however enjoined all members of the party in the state, not to be detracted by defection of some people, who values does not affect the chances of the party in the coming governorship election in the state.

Also Ayo Fadaka , zonal publicity secretary of the party in South West, posits that the party is sure of victory in the state if the coming election is on one man one vote, saying the incumbent Governor will not stay longer day than his tenure in office after the election, as he is already disconnected from the people and even members of his party.
